Halloween envy.
Halloween is not a thing here. People don't do it. It just doesn't happen because of the American culture and people don't want to be like Americans, sorry guys. But in October I am green with envy seeing my daily email from etsy in my gmail inbox is Halloween themed, looking at costumes and candy drives me crazy! Because its just not available here. Then I get my daily dose of buzzfeed where I see a post saying something along the lines of "15 worst trick or treat candies" I read the post and I think about 80% I had never ever heard of and 90% I have never tried, well aren't you spoiled for choice. You can't buy American candy here and most of it you can't get shipped here, candy decile. New Zealand trick or treaters are a common neighbourhood pest, they are the people who once a year just want something for free they don't really dress up putting on a hat and knock on your door toting a donut saying that they are dressed as an undercover cop. Then there is the fact that Halloween isn't a real holiday so the unexpected resident who has to open their door to the chime of "trick or treat" and then have to fumble around in their kitchen trying to find a $1 or a packet of 2 minute noodles. I wish Halloween worked but it just doesn't.
